Book Presentation to Royal Geographical Society
Mike Robinson (left), Chief Executive of The Royal Scottish Geographical Society, receives a copy of a rare book from Pitlochry Station Bookshop volunteers, Graham Homes (Chairman, right) Bobbie McGraw and Carolyn Russell.
The book contains engravings of the Fair Maid of Perth and was published in 1878 for members of The Royal Association of Fine Arts in Scotland. The presentation took place in the Explorers’ Room at The Fair Maid’s House which is the headquarters of RSGS.
Mike Robinson said, “We are delighted to add this volume to the collection of materials we already hold about the Fair Maid’s House.” For Pitlochry Station Bookshop, Carolyn Russell stated, “We could have sold this magnificent book but it seemed more appropriate that it should find a home at the house it commemorates.”
